UPF was first launched in September 2005 in New York by Rev. and Mrs Sun Myung Moon, during a world peace tour of 120 nations in a little bit more than 120 days. The Universal Peace Federation in Europe was inaugurated in November 2005 in Geneva, Switzerland with an international event gathering 1200 participants from the whole world.
Women’s Federation for World Peace (International)
is a global network of women Ambassadors for Peace established in 1991 in Japan.
UPF and WFWP are Non-gouvernemental Organizations (NGO) accredited with the Special Consultative Status of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
UPF and WFWP founders are Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. They are also the initiators of over one hundred organizations established in the course of more than 50 years of public life for the realization of world peace through family values, conferences for unity of science and religion, inter-religious dialog, international cooperation, humanitarian relief and human rights education.
